The Louvre museum in Paris will turn into the ultimate Airbnb for one night only.
wo people will have the chance to spend the night inside a ‘mini pyramid’ within the museum, after enjoying a private tour of Mona Lisa, an extravagant dinner in a pop-up dining room and an acoustic concert in Napoleon’s lavish apartments.
Airbnb and the Louvre have teamed up to turn the museum into a magical home for one night to mark the building’s 30th anniversary.
As the sun sets on Paris on April 30, the winning duo will make their way to the museum where they will be greeted by an art-historian who will take them on a bespoke tour, like those previously given to the Obamas, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
They will enjoy a toast in front of the Mona Lisa with a cosy Renaissance-inspired aperitif while relaxing on a sumptuous Parisian lounge sofa, while listening to the atmospheric sounds of French music on vinyl records.
Venus de Milo, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, will then “host” an extravagant feast in a pop-up dining room.
Lastly, guests will be treated to an intimate acoustic concert in Napoleon III’s lavish apartments.
At the end of this very special evening, the winners will retire to their bedroom under the Pyramid and Parisian stars for what promises to be a masterpiece of a sleepover.
To enter, simply go to airbnb.com/louvre before April 12.
“We know that many people would love the opportunity to wander alone at night through the Louvre and we want this to be a magical and unforgettable experience,” said Anne-Laure Béatrix, Deputy Managing Director of the Musée du Louvre.
From May until the end of the year, a series of exceptional experiences at the museum will be bookable on the Airbnb platform.
These experiences will give everyone the opportunity to rediscover the most famous museum in the world from a new angle, with exclusive visits and intimate concerts.
“Paris is one of the most attractive cities in the world and the Louvre is one of the most loved and celebrated institutions in Paris,” said Emmanuel Marill, General Manager, Airbnb France.
“We are thrilled to partner with them and to offer exciting and unique experiences that will celebrate our community and welcome Parisians and international travellers to rediscover the museum in a new and authentic way.”
